An initial consultation will usually last about one hour and will involve a series of detailed questions regarding your previous medical history and that of your immediate family. The consultation then moves on to deal with the details of your diet and lifestyle and then investigates the systems of your body, e.g. digestion and respiratory systems. Ana will also ask you about why you have come to see her and about your expectations of the consultation.
Ana will usually take your pulse and examine your tongue, both of which are very useful diagnostic tools from Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM. If appropriate Ana will also take your blood pressure.
At the end of the consultation you will leave with a mixture of Naturopathic dietary and lifestyle advice. Ana uses a postal herbal dispensary service, so you should usually receive your herbal medicine within 2-3 days of the consultation.
A follow-up
appointment, which usually lasts about 30 mins, is booked for 2 weeks after the initial appointment to
appraise any changes and to allow for tweaking of the treatment plan. Further appointments may be necessary depending on the individual client's particular needs
